About this course

Our Additive Manufacturing starter course addresses everyone who comes in contact with Additive Manufacturing technology, such as purchasers, machine operators, project managers, and designers. The purpose of this starter course is to impart a fundamental understanding of chances, applications and limitations of Additive Manufacturing. This training will enable participants to recognize the potentials of this innovative technology and how to make use of them. The course conveys machinery, materials, and process know-how of Laser Beam Melting technology, as well as essential knowledge on designing additive manufactured parts. Based on a case study, the previously taught design rules will be applied in practice.

About this course

From the construction of a training-part, machine preparations, unpacking of machine, to post processing of the printed part, here you will be introduced to the entire process of Additive Manufacturing. The goal of this training is to acquire a deep and practical understanding of the process chain of Additive Manufacturing. In hands-on exercises the participants learn the basics of data preparation, machine operation, quality assurance and post processing of Laser Beam Melting. At the end of the training, the participants can take their pre and post processed parts home with them.

What will I be taught?

  • Basic introduction to machine operation
  • Insight into configuration options and effects of process parameters
  • Data preparation of CAD data in Materialize Magics
  • Removal of support structures and quality assurance of parts

About this course

Additive Manufacturing and its lightweight potentials are becoming more present than ever before. But how do you design a bionic optimized part? This worldwide unique training teaches constructors and designers the enormous capabilities of bionic engineering, and how to design and optimize additive manufactured parts. The course lets you experience the whole process chain, from the initial design to the additive manufactured and bionic optimized part. You will be guided by specialists of the IAPT and Altair.

About this course

Additive Manufacturing enables new, disruptive part designs with new features and improved functionality. Often, a business case is only possible if new freedoms of the technology are utilized consistently. In order to be able to calculate a reliable business case, a re-design concept is necessary.
The aim of the workshop is to work together with our experts to design a re-design concept that fully exploits the new possibilities of 3D printing. “Think outside of the box” in a creative atmosphere under structured guidance.
