Bionic Design Training (Altair)

About this course

Additive Manufacturing and its lightweight potentials are becoming more present than ever before. But how do you design a bionic optimized part? This worldwide unique training teaches constructors and designers the enormous capabilities of bionic engineering, and how to design and optimize additive manufactured parts. The course lets you experience the whole process chain, from the initial design to the additive manufactured and bionic optimized part. You will be guided by specialists of the IAPT and Altair.

What will I be taught?

  • Additive design with focus on topology optimization and weight saving
  • Preparation of data for 3D printing including support structures and part alignment
  • Interpretation of results of topology optimization
  • Understanding of the entire design and manufacturing process of bionic parts

Your advantages

  • Minimization of costs for misprints
  • Optimization of efficiency through correct part alignment
  • Reduction of support structures and post-processing
  • Interdisciplinary compentencies of software and 3D printing experts
  • Take along a self-processed part

Who are the target groups?

  • Constructors
  • Designers

What prior knowledge is necessary?

  • Expierence with CAD software
